A: Great Question! There are many signs our professional inspectors look for when identifying termites and termite infestations.
- Mud Tubes – Mud Tubes are how termites get from the ground to your home. They build these tubes due to the fact that they need to maintain a certain moisture level to survive.

- Hollow Sounding or Indented Walls – Finding termites once they’re behind the walls can be hard. But typically, if you knock and it sounds hollow, or you see a tube shaped indention running up the wall. You could be dealing with a termite activity.

- Termite Damaged Wood – Finding termite damage in wood can be a scary thought! But, it doesn’t always mean they are active and eating away right now. Most of the time, it is old damage from before we preformed the treatment on your home.

Termites vs Moisture Damage
Termite and moisture damage are commonly confused with each other. They both seem to have a tube like pattern to them and make the wood very weak. However, there are a couple different ways you can tell them apart. Termite damage usually has mud in the wood from the termites, and the wood is dry and brittle. Moisture damage will have little to no dirt or mud in the wood and will typically be soggy and malleable.
