Stinging insects are a common pest late Spring through early Fall.
Legacy Commercial & Residential Pest Control
Arkansas is home to a variety of stinging insects that can become pests when they build nests near homes and businesses. The most common offenders include:
Yellowjackets: These wasps are known for their aggressive behavior, especially in late summer and fall. Yellowjackets build nests in wall voids, trees, shrubs, and frequently underground. Their stings can be painful and sometimes dangerous.
Paper Wasps: Recognizable by their umbrella-shaped nests hanging from eaves or branches, paper wasps are less aggressive but will defend their nests if threatened.
Mud Daubers: These solitary wasps build mud nests on structures such as walls and eaves. They are generally non-aggressive, but their nests can be unsightly.
Honey Bees: These beneficial pollinators often nest in hollow trees, walls, or other protected areas. Many honey bee species are protected due to their critical role in ecosystems, so we do not treat or remove them.
Our team specializes in safely identifying and removing nests of these stinging insects. We prioritize environmentally responsible methods and, importantly, do not treat protected bee species.
